Enchanting Tibet: Saga Dawa Festival in Kailash and Manasaovar

Choosing to visit Tibet during the Saga Dawa Festival was one of the best decisions I made. The 15-days was filled with surprises and awe-inspiring moments. The festival at Mt. Kailash was a unique cultural experience, bringing together pilgrims from all over. Witnessing the sunrise and sunset at Everest Base Camp was a lifetime experience, and the 3-day kora around Mount Kailash was both challenging and spiritually rewarding.

Throughout the journey, the service provided by Tibet Horizon was outstanding. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and always ready to share insights about the places we visited. The accommodations were comfortable, and the meals were delicious and varied, allowing us to enjoy the local cuisine. The trip was well-organized, and every detail was taken care of, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience.

These fifteen days were packed with incredible sights and unforgettable experiences. Although the journey was challenging at times, it was immensely rewarding.     Dynamic Festival Journey - Lhasa & Mount Kailash & Lake Manasaovar

    From the moment we met, it was clear that our guide was dedicated and passionate about his work. When he helped us during the challenging kora around Mount Kailash, he was extremely attentive to everyone’s needs, ensuring we were all well-prepared and motivated to complete the pilgrimage.

    The Potala Palace, with its grand architecture and deep history, left us in awe. At Yamdrok Lake, we were captivated by the crystal-clear blue waters surrounded by majestic mountains. Namtso Lake was equally stunning, with its serene beauty providing a perfect backdrop for reflection and peace. However, the most unforgettable moment of our trip lies in the Saga Dawa Festival. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with colorful flags and chants, was mesmerizing. Witnessing the devotion of the pilgrims and participating in the traditional Tibetan opera at Drepung Monastery was a deeply spiritual experience that enriched our understanding of Tibetan culture and spirituality. None of this would have been possible without the help of our guide.

    Tibet Horizon's attention to detail and excellent service made this trip truly unforgettable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore Tibet's cultural and natural beauty.
